Presentation of the wine of Château Duhart Milon

The reputation of Duhart Milon wines is not recent. It all began in the 18th century, a period during which Duhart Milon wines were served to the Seigneur de Lafite. Later, in 1815, they were considered the fourth growth of the Pauillac region.

Over the years, the estate has changed owners. It is necessary to wait until the period 1830 to 1840 to see appearing the name “Duhart Milon” which was given by the Castéja family. The latter had inherited a 40 ha estate from the estate of Mandavy and the widow Duhart. This makes Chateau Duhart Milon one of the largest wine estates in the Pauillac region.

After 1937, with the numerous successions of owners, the quality of the wines dropped considerably. This lasted until the Rothschild family bought the estate in 1962. The latter proceeds to important works as well as to the installation of cellars and vats. All this has allowed Chateau Duhart Milon to regain its place as the fourth growth in the region.

Currently, the property is managed by Saskia de Rothschild as President and Eric Kohler as Technical Director. It should be noted that the team is responsible for the management of Château Duhart Milon and Château Lafite Rothschild. The two areas are adjacent.
