Château Lacoste Borie 1988 - Tasting and food pairing

 

A Pauillac red wine from an exceptional vintage

The 1988 vintage was marked by a mild winter and a wet spring. The summer was hot and dry, with ideal conditions for ripening the grapes. Harvesting took place between September 25 and October 10. The wine is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. It was aged for 18 months in new barrels (50%). Colour: Intense garnet Nose: Complex, intense aromas of black fruits, cedar, tobacco and spices. Palate: A powerful, full-bodied wine with velvety tannins and a long, persistent finish. Cellaring: Drink now or cellar for several years.
